3. WD-40 and duct tape is all you need to repair everything
If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use duct tape

I have used duct tape on my horse's torn blanket and to hold a salve bandage in place on her hoof when she had an abcess.

We call duct tape "Alabama chrome." :evilgrin:
