(It likes being in a warm, cozy place.) If you see this thread you'll understand why:

I know we're probably not supposed to post with references to other posts of our own, but I could NOT resist the opportunity to use the subject line above.

2. Ha! Good subject. The duck's too little to pose a threat to
the nips, though.

8. yeah. watch that ...
When they get older, they can really pinch! Ducks develop a sharp "tooth" or "nail" on the tips of their bills ...

10. just be glad you're not a duck-billed platypus!
They don't actually have nipples, but they do have milk glands. I looked at a preserved specimen once, and it seems that their bills aren't as hard (or as sharp at the end) as a real duck's. But still, having a bunch of hungry youngsters clamping on is probably not much fun ...

3. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Love that pic!
Sooooo cute, the two of them!

Reminds me of the day my hubbie brought 21 baby chix home from the post office. We happened to receive them on Easter Morning- special delivery via Fed Ex @ 5:30 am.

My husband brought them home from the post office and the kids got to wake up to the sound of "peep, peep, peep." It was really magical!

I would just love to have a couple of ducks!

Your son is so adorable! The duckling is very cute too...How old is your son? Is he the baby? He has quite an intelligent and lively face, IMHO...

12. Yes, that's the Little Guy. He'll be 9 in a month or so.
And yes, he's frighteningly bright. Once a week or so, he pops out with a leap of logic that absolutely confounds us.

But it's fun to have a kid who will NOT accept a stock, "brush off" answer when he asks a question. Makes us keep thinking, and makes me glad I read the encyclopedia...

Actually, what a pair of cuties :)

And  to your subject line... because animals are good for your soul, by the way, is why they keep gravitating toward you!

15. Thank you, m'dear...did you guys have a good weekend?
I hope so. Ours was pretty terrific, not exciting for some people maybe, but real good in the "family stuff" kind of way.

16. Same kind of weekend here
Friday we hung out and went to bed early. Saturday we spent a huge chunk of the day at the DMV and the VW dealership, getting John's car :) Had a nice nap, all three of us, and my mom took Anja for the night, so John and I went for a walk and had a nice dinner. Today we went and watched my cousin kick some ass in a step-dancing competition, and mowed the jungle that was my mom's lawn, and then a whole lot of hangin' out and relaxing. All in all, good stuff. I read about your weekend in the 'whining' thread, sounded absolutely terrible ;)

17. Gawd, it was dreadful, poor me. So what kind of car did J get?
Edited on Sun Jun-05-05 10:21 PM by Redstone
Jetta? Passat? Eighty-thousand-dollar Phaeton?

And you had a nap. It's impossible to overrate the pleasure of a nice nap, isn't it?
