Fifteen years.
I met Mr. Bouncy fifteen years ago, when he was a 22 year old soldier stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas. I was 19 years old and a junior in college.

One war, one wedding, two college graduations, one kid, five dogs, two cats, nine addresses, eight vehicles, three near-death experiences, and four career changes later, and we're still hanging on.

1. Right on, Bouncy!
My longest relationship has been six years. It's my current relationship. Every other partner self-destructed in one way or another around the 4-1/2 mark.

Fifteen years is a bloody miracle in my eyes! Congratulations! :toast:

3. Thanks, it's a miracle in mine, too
considering how young and dumb we were at the time. When I'm 38, I will have been with him half of my life. I keep threatening to trade him in on a newer model, but he knows I won't. He's too broken in.

5. Heh?
I was a year ahead, because of skipping kindergarten, is that what you meant?

But I made up for it by staying in college five years! :D

next Thursday. Met in 72, right before the Watergate burglary. Hard to believe.

Heh, well yeah. I'm going to have to decide which stories are ok to tell. LOL!

Oh speaking of grandkids, proof of how much of a dork Mr. Bouncy is:

a couple of weeks ago, I see him obessesing over some quarters and I ask him what he's doing and he starts going on and on about how they are all those state quarters and I said "I didn't know you were into collecting those" and he says "Well they're for the grandbabies."

GRANDBABIES??? That cracked my shit up. Our child is TEN. But he's already collecting stuff for the "grandbabies." Talks about going fishing and shit with them. I ask him "what if our daughter doesn't have kids?" He didn't have an answer for that. She just HAS to. Otherwise, what the hell's he going to do with all these quarters?

And the way you tell it is even funnier - "that cracked my shit up" actually did crack my shit up!

Many congratulations to you and Mr. Bouncy - and here's to many more happy years together. :toast:

18. I suppose if we stopped to think about it
even those of us who think we've lived fairly boring lives have done and accomplished quite a bit. It's time for me to have another high school reunion this year and I gasp at the thought of it being 30 years since I've been in high school. But when I think about it I seem to have done a few things in life.

26. One is his and two are mine.
But mine aren't as exciting as they sound. His was in the first Gulf War. Mine were the result of a ruptured ectopic pregnancy (blood pressure was down to 40 over 20 and in shock when they decided to operate, I had lost too much blood, internally) and the second was appendicitis that was misdiagnosed and the appendix ruptured. Sheesh.

See, not exciting!

But still. Too close for comfort. The appendix one was the worst, believe it or not. Apparently having infectous crap spew all over your innards is not good.

27. Not exciting, but scary and painful.
Did either one of you get to the point where you feel your soul leave your body? I think those stories are really interesting.

28. LOL, oh no.
Nothing that exotic. When my blood pressure dropped that far that fast, I felt incredibly woozy and I remember hearing the nurse say "Oh my God" in a tiny sounding voice when she took my blood pressure and another person said "is that her bp?" and she said "Yeah" and then they started moving around really quickly and I was knocked out.
