This is from the print copy of Maxim magazine, May 2005, so there is no URL. The interviewer mentions Quentin Tarantino giving Jackson his big break when he was in his 40s, and asks "Did you ever think about quitting?" This is his reply:

"Never. That was never a choice. Way back when I made my decision to become an actor, my mom and other people said "Why don;t you do something else so you have something to fall back on?" That's copping out. I figured, if I don't commit myself totally to this, then I've already given up. Either I was gonna act, or I wasn't gonna do anything, and that's what happened."
