Need help with finding a weather report
I don't know if this is possible but my friend's daughter has to go to court for a ticket tomorrow and finding a weather report for a specific day (February 2, 2005, Poughkeepsie, NY) would help her. The cop gave her a ticket for running a red light but she did stop, the car didn't. There was snow on the ground and she slid through and tapped another car. If she could show what the weather conditions were it could help. She needs it for tomorrow so we have to find it online. I can't seem to find anywhere that gives back weather reports. Anyone know where to look?

1. I don't know for sure
but try googling "national weather bureau" and see what you can find. Also, try http://www.wunderground.com which might have old reports.

8. Thanks everyone
the weather report said it snowed on Jan 30, it was almost 40 on the day she got the ticket and 0 that night so any melt would turn to black ice. No way to stop on that. She's 19 so she doesn't need a ticket for something she couldn't help.

9. It's not going to matter.
Accidents do happen, but most likely the judge will rule that she should have taken road/weather factors into consideration with regards to speed and stopping distance.

Sorry... there's really no excuse for a rear end collision (even a minor one), if you're driving properly.

10. It wasn't a rear end
The woman turned in front of her. There was very little damage, less than the deductible. When you are driving in that weather the woman turning should have made sure that the car was going to stop too. The light had just turned. She paid for the damages but a traffic violation in that kind of weather is a little unreasonable. She a very responsible young woman.

11. not a lawyer but...
I tried this just two months ago for my son, it did not work. The rule is... you have to make sure you are traveling at the rate of spreed that allows you to react in a timely manner and stay in full control of your car. The judge made that very clear. If you can't stop, you were going too fast for the conditions. Maye you'll get lucky but I had pictures of the scene and the cop agreed the conditions sucked but he got the fine anyway. I do wish your friends daughter the best though

13. Sorry about your son
I think it will depend on the judge. She'll pay for the ticket but just doesn't want the points on her license. The cop didn't even see it, it was the other driver so if she doesn't show up tomorrow it's dismissed. We're driving down with her tomorrow since college is out she has to go back down for this court appearance.
