In honor of Memorial Day: My pappy
Calvin
MRC US Navy
1928-1994

He's about two here. I have one of him and grandma, but he's not smiling and neither is she. American gothic. Here you can see his smile. We can always tell an old photo is dad by the way his eyes would crinkle when he smiled.

I think of this as his Oliver Twist picture

Old and yellow and cracked, but still a nice photo.

Another vet, another puppy.

Note: That's his raw recruit picture with a mustache penciled in so he could see how he looked. Considering the next picture has a real mustache in it, he must have thought he looked good.

Mom and dad and first baby.

Quite a while later. Dig the car.

Mom and pop, the later years.

Dad, just before he got sick.

Dad in the nursing home, not to long before he died. That's me, Green Bay Buddah.

4. I know
That damn TLC and their "Operation Homecoming" commercials were doing it for me. I hate it when commercials make me burst into tears. The MCI friends and family one with the daughter and dad dancing did that too. Bleah.
