Yesterday, I heard a horror story from a friend about her ongoing battle with Best Buy over a microwave oven she purchased which conked out about three days after the store's "30 day money back guarantee." It took a while for her to get through to the store manager, after several people, including the assistant manager and a girl in customer service were highly rude to her, and called her "an issue." At the end of it, her husband had to return it for her because she said she was so mad, she would have said or done something to the CS person out of frustration. She's a store manager herself in another chain and knows how customer service people should behave, but often don't.

Anyone have any experiences with CS people that prompted as close to a nuclear rant as you could get?

In my own experience, I've been pretty lucky, although at one point some 4 years ago, I had a very frustrating time with Best Buy's computer techs, but thankfully it was resolved.

And he resents having to be "customer service," too. Sometimes he answers the phone, "And what petty problem might I take care of for you today?"
