Hubby quit smoking two months ago, and now
he has decided he can buy a pickup truck with the money he used to spend on cigarettes! Pray for me!

6. I am so glad he stopped. Are you pleased with his plan for a reward?

9. Yes, I think he needs to reward himself, 'cause he sweated bullets
quitting. I quit 4 years ago, and I like the way he smells now much better. But he quit once before and then went back. So I worry about that a little.

3. The $1200 plus the trade in on his old car are the down payment.
He figures he can make the monthly payments with the money he was spending monthly on cigs.

10. Let's see better ....
$10 a day .... x 30 days = $300 a month ....

Yes indeed .... that approximates a monthy payment on a relatively new truck ...

Any questions ? .. or have you any other hairs to split ? ...

Great thing is: after 5 years, he can buy another truck ...

Then another .....

Then another ....

8. By giving up cigs he will probably save thousands in health care costs

11. Another bonus of buying the truck: everytime he looks at the truck
it can motivate him to remain smoke-free. I do that with a digital camera I bought back in January.

Here's the Boston Public Gardens on 5-19-2005:

12. Off topic, but . . .
Your picture just motivated me to make sure I go down to the public gardens this weekend (weather permitting).

I want to work out my camera some more :).

13. Here's another nice thing about the new truck
I'm sure his old vehicle stinks of cigerettes. Now with his new truck (well used but newer truck), I'm sure it doesn't stink of cigerettes which will make it more enjoyable of a ride!

14. He probably can.
I was a 1-pack-a-day smoker, and I pocket an extra $120 a month...

OK, so the gas pump and associated rising prices get it, but you catch my meaning, right?
