Cop erases man's photos of him stuck in mud, cops abduct lot attendant
who told them to pay

Man sues over loss of 'dirty' photo
He took picture of Hudson cop stuck in mud; cop erased image

Hudson- It was bad enough that police officer David Devore got stuck in the mud in his cruiser. But he got really mad when a resident took a picture of him...

Devore, watching his car being towed out, did not find it funny, Hoover said. After Bell drove off, Hoover said, Devore radioed another officer to stop Bell without giving a reason. Devore pulled up, approached Bell and ordered Bell to give him his camera.

"You have three seconds to hand over your digital camera or I am going to make your life a living hell," Devore said, according to Bell's lawsuit...

Devore was suspended a day without pay Feb. 15 for conduct unbecoming an officer, according to a disciplinary action form from the department...

Pay to park? Agents cuff lot attendant

Columbus - Two state liquor control agents lost one day's pay for handcuffing a parking attendant and putting him in their car after he told them they'd have to pay $5 to park.

Fuad Mohamud, 23, said he approached a car outside a Columbus nightclub to collect the $5 lot fee, not knowing that the men inside were liquor control agents. He said the men jumped out, handcuffed him, put him in the car and drove him around for a half-hour before releasing him.

The undercover agents accused Mohamud of obstructing official business and blowing their cover. The charge was dropped.

However, Ed Duvall Jr., the unit's deputy director, said the agents thought they were making a valid arrest and that their union would protect them from more serious discipline. So Duvall said he approved an internal charge saying the agents filed a sloppy police report that led authorities to dismiss the case.

3. Power corrupts
I think we're way past the time that a full battery psychological tests be performed on those wanting to become members of law enforcement.

7. The problem is that even if they pass the tests going in,
after 5 years or so of cop work they no longer pass the tests.

8. Wouldn't work.
First, most young people wanting to be cops are fine until they go into the profession.
Then, they see so much violence, death, destruction and anger that it effects them later on.
The best thing we could do for police officers is to give them regular access to a psychologist and give them three or four weeks vacation a year.
For some it's about the power, but, for most, they turn into jerks because they see so much sickening stuff day in and day out.

11. They actually DO perform psych tests
My mom once dated a cop who failed the psych test to carry a gun.

They let him be a cop... just not an ARMED cop.

2. What, were they drunk????
The way to stay "undercover" is to pay the damn parking lot fee, get a receipt, and file for expenses later. What jerks, and it is a bit nerve-inducing when you read stories like this...these sorts of thuggish tactics seem to be happening more and more frequently.

5. Fuad Mohamud - wonder if his looks had anything to do with it
"Hey we can pay and keep our cover or we can hassle this here raghead"

Wouldn't surprise me in the least.

6. No, no you are mistaken
The way to stay undercover is to jump out and throw handcuffs on a person.

Sheesh, I can tell you've never worked undercover, n00b!

;)

9. We should all buy shovels and mail them to officer David Devore
Or maybe send him bags of kitty litter to use for traction the next time he gets stuck?

Yeah, let's do that.

We can all mail him a ziplock bag of kitty litter.

But there have been cops on personal power trips for a long, long time.
