A general noticed one of his soldiers behaving oddly.
A general noticed one of his soldiers behaving oddly. The soldier would pick up any piece of paper he found, frown and say: “That's not it” and put it down again. This went on for some time, until the general arranged to have the soldier psychologically tested. The psychologist concluded that the soldier was deranged, and wrote out his discharge from the army. The soldier picked it up, smiled and said: “That's it.”

1. Ah, there's no school like Old School!
I just time traveled to the Summer Of Love on that one. Arlo Guthrie sends his regards!

3. I spent a year remote duty on our DEW (radar) line in Alaska...
A room mate of mine began acting very strangely midway through the long dark winter. When the Major called him into his office he ducked around behind his desk as if he were jumping out to shoot at fox. Thinking he was cracking up from "cabin fever" the Major called for a Medivac plane to evacuate him for mental evaluation.
A week later this troop sent us a post card from a VA hospital near his home in Pennsylvania. It contained one line of text: "Crazy like a fox!" I haven't heard from him since but I suspect he is living quietly in some small town in Pennsylvania on his retirement.
