Jewel or They Might Be Giants?

Which should I see in concert this summer?
The Jewel show is a solo acoustic so it won't be that pop stuff from her last album. It will be the good Jewel.

They Might Be Giants is well...great.

I'm trying to limit how much I spend on concerts this summer since I've already spent a lot.

Jewel is great, hot or not. Reminds me of Jacques Brel--at least her early stuff. They Might Be Giants, while also great, is more obscure, and this is the sort of place where obscure is often thought to equate to greatness. Thus, TMBG will win here.

If Jewel were plain or ugly, should be more popular, with the exact same quality of music.

Just my observation. I pick Jewel. Less self-consciously clever. But I wouldn't avoid TMBG. Selling my body to see both would be a good option.

since she doesn't have a new album yet.

I've seen her once before in '00, but it wasn't a solo acoustic show like this one. That's why I want to go.

But I like her. I saw her a few years ago and it was well worth the free tickets.:) (My buddy worked on her tour)
She is pretty good and it was a good show. On that tour she brought unsigned artists and gave them exposure. She is pretty cool and writes some good tunes. I would go see her.
Funny, I knew that when I clicked on this the majority would say "They might be giants", they weren't really that good, but DU can be pretty predictable sometimes.
