Where did you go on your last vacation?
Went to Williamsburg and Jamestown, VA this month. I just loved it! It's beautiful, and there's so much history there. I want to go back, and when I do, I'll have time to see Yorktown. Tickets for Williamsburg are expensive, but there is so much too see! Get the Governor's Key ticket instead of the Colonial Sampler ticket. Because the Governor's Palace and the Capitol Building are must-sees.

4. Last real vacation, we went to Oregon and Washington state
I completely fell in love with that area and can't wait to visit again.

My last mini-vacation was a spa weekend in Chicago. (Also something I hope to experience again soon.)

18. I'd love to go to the West Coast
I've never been there. Any recommendations for where to start?

My next vacation, though, will likely be the Jersey Shore. Down the shore, as Philly people say.

Everyone have a relaxing weekend wherever you are!

5. Alaska
last July. Visited Skagway, Juneau, and Ketchikan. Beautiful. And with global warming, it's a good thing I packed shorts. Did not need the heavy jacket I brought.

6. I used to live in the Tidewater and Chesapeake regions.
I really miss it. There are so many places to see so close together, and, yeah, lots of history.

We drove to LA from the midwest. Took three days each way, camping at KOAs at night.

7. Every Columbus Day weekend we drive up to Cooperstown NY...
...for the fall colors. We've been doing this now for about eight years, and we're practically "regulars" at the Doubleday Cafe and Farmer's Museum (a working restoration village just outside of town). We don't necessarily visit the Baseball Hall of Fame, but mostly just go to unwind for a couple of days.

I love it up there.

9. London, Paris and Nassau
Yeah, I know it sounds like a weird combination, but I wanted to go to Europe for our twenty year anniversary. My husband didn't want to go that far and leave our business that long, but he joined me on the last week in Nassau. It was great and I felt like a spoiled brat. My longest vacation, ever.

we packed up the girls and went to India. Wonderful place, people food, etc. The Taj Mahal looks as fake in person as it does in pictures, but the acoustics are amazing.

17. Blackwater Falls State Park in WV
and Monongahela Natl forest. Last weekend. Actually was OUT of the store for 67 hours in a row. It was really nice. Spent the night at a Natl forest campground - first campfire we've had in almost 3 years. I think it got into the high 40's that night so we did the civilized thing and slept in the cab of the truck. Got all packed up before bed so we were ready to pull out when we woke up. Left at 9:50 and made it to civilization the next morning just in time for a McD's biscuit.

The weekend before memorial day is defiantly the time to camp at a natl forest campground. There were only like 4 other spots taken so we had lots of privacy.

We saw the Fairfax stone too - It marks the SW tip of Maryland and is the headwaters of the Potomac river. Not much too look at, Just a rock with a spring coming out from under it, and a plaque, but still kinda cool.

Would love to follow that little stream all the way to DC. I know that there is a trail at least from Cumberland on.

22. Ha! We took our 2 kids to Williamsburg and Jamestown last June...
...and it was like a recreation of the Bataan Death March!
I have never heard so much bitching in my life.
In fact, I'm still laughing at some of the high points of their low behavior. Really, they took it to a new level, an art form, if you will.
It was HOT, and they were 8 and 12.

They especially detested the podgy whitebread people pretending to be Indians at Jamestown, and the $75.00 lunch at the tavern in Williamsburg.
