DO we exploit kid's cuteness for our own purposes?
I mean REALLY graduation for kids...just so the parents can stand back and go "awwwwww."
I mean you're forcing the kids to take part in this shit just so you get some kinda paternal thrill out of it..... cuddle junkies! What the fuck is wrong with you people?

When I was a kid we got as little love and affection as possible. You know why? Cause when you're on your own love and affection comes second to hangovers and catching your girlfriend screwing your boss!

If I did something even remotely cute my Mom woulda said, "Stop being a nuisance." And told me to bugger off.

We're raising a society of muppets... and CUTE doesn't pay a bill unless you're a stripper living in a building owned by a sleazeball.

1. What about polar bears?
Do we utilize their cuteness for our own purposes?

3. Hey, if people's kids behave like shitheads, the least they can get out...

of them is the consolation that they are cute. Of course, that is a poor substitute for having a child who has been forged through discipline into an iron youth of the 21st century and will make you proud of his/her herculean accomplishments.

5. High school graduates are not cute
Not even remotely. Now kindergarten graduation - that's cute.

So is your polar bear, by the way. :loveya:

I always have enjoyed coming back to town to go to HS graduation parties. The girls there are fine!

10. So we'll take care of them
There is a theory in evolutionary circles that kids, babies of all kinds --- including KITTENS--- look cute and helpless so bigger beings will take care if them.

I bet you really were cute, HeyHey. :-)

12. It's about self-esteem, not cuteness...and celebrating mediocrity.
Like Mr. Incredible says.

I guess they figure now, they have to make *everyone* special. They have graduations for little kids so they feel like they accomplish something. Even if they just showed up.

It's kind of sad. The *really* special kids are treated almost like everyone else, which I guess is cool if you're ordinary.

Sigh.

And I'll say right here that not all kids are cute.
