Poll question: Who was President when you were born?
We haven't done this in a while, so let's check in and see which President comes out on top! :D I was born during the dark Reagan years. *shudder* Reagan will be the cutoff point, anyone born after January 20, 1989, please specify!

12. 10 days after I was born, 4 Puerto Rican nationalists opened fire in the
House of Representatives, wounding 5 congressmen (3/1/1954). A week later, Edward R Morrow attacked Sen Joe McCarthy and the nightmare of "McCarthyism" started to fade. And, when I was three months old, the Supreme Court said "seperate but equal" was illegal (Brown v Board of Education). In November of that year, President Eisenhower began direct military aid to the government of South Viet Nam.

1954 was a pretty interesting year.

Lucky I can't remember Nixon. So those memories were surpressed. Let's hope these 8 (sic!) years will be the same.

14. Jimmy Carter
and Maggie Thatcher was British P.M. (by nearly 4 months).

I grew up on the footage of Thatcher-Reagan, and when I was young came to the (not totally unreasonable) conclusion that Prime Minister was the feminine form of President.

32. I was a Tory grudgematch boy.
Born under Jimmy Carter, or Jim Callaghan as it was for us (1978), so my first year was the last year of Labour rule. Then, 18 years later, my first vote was for Labour, one of the avalanche that ended Tory rule.
