This is becoming a VERY weird Friday...

I have an unusual last name (for Halifax, Nova Scotia, anyway). There are only three people with that last name in the phone book.

Anyway... the po-lice are looking for one of the others for "interfering with human remains". I gather that they found the body of his deceased 90-yr.-old mother in his refrigerator. No evidence of foul play, but she's been dead since April...

Consequently, we've been getting telephone calls from the media today:

"No, I am not related to (blah), and I don't know anything about any dead old ladies in refrigerators..."

"Oh. Sorry to bother you."

I'll bet durn few people have ever had that conversation. :wtf:

"Hi, you've reached xxx and we're out. If this is the media or law enforcement, we are unrelated to person x and don't know anything about little old ladies in refridgerators. We have no comment. Thank you and stop bugging us!"

2. Not with the dead lady part, but

About 10 or so years ago, a man with my surname was arrested for sexual predation. Since there are only three or four persons with that name in the Queens phone book, I (& the others, I'm sure) got a million abusive calls. Nasty business.

Yes I know him. He used to kill frogs and freeze them when he was young. We called them toadcycles. After he got older he told me about the various other stuff he would freeze. Freezing dead stuff was actually his fetish. He would buy a side of beef just to freeze it. I tried to help him once, get him to move on to vegetables, but he always went back to dead stuff.
