Poll question: Tom Cruise or William Hung?
Edited on Fri May-27-05 09:40 AM by Heidi
Ya'll decide.

William Hung: Kind, intelligent, regular guy, funny, tremendous inspirational stage presence.

Tom Cruise: Pretty, rich, condescending regarding others' mental health choices, not known to be able to carry a tune in a bucket.

2. Depends on the occasion
for a conversation and cup of coffee - William Hung

for a shag and a cup of coffee - Tom Cruise

:)

4. Feelin' the Love today!
I can understand mass hatred toward, say, Paris Hilton.

But Tom Cruise?

It's the Scientology, isn't it?

6. Said it once, I'll say it again.
I don't care what Tom's religion is. But I don't anymore want him and his church using their political clout to limit our health care choices than I want Jerry Falwell and his church using their political clout to limit them.

(I really would go out with William Hung before Tom Cruise. William seems interesting and kind.)

10. It seems that it is ... so ...
... I suspect I missed something he said recently. I don't recall Cruise trying to limit our health care choices (which vis-à-vis Scientology, probably means mental health choices).

So, what'd I miss?

14. "Cruise launches war on pyschiatrists."
http://www.imdb.com/news/wenn/2005-05-27/#2

(Re: the article, I don't disagree that children in the U.S. are probably over-medicated, but parents still have the right to determine the general course of their kids' medical care, a right I would _not_ like to see diluted by Mr. Cruise.)

15. Yep ... I didn't see that
I could understand the man's pique, but launching a war?

I mean, he does have a point. But fixing a public health error with Scientology is like fixing Social Security with a game of national Three-Card Monte played in front of the White House.

13. I wouldn't even care if he's a scientologists...
it's just that he's trying to convince everyone that a religion that was made as a goof by a science-fiction writer is real and that this fake religion is the only way to solve problems that really should be solved by doctors.

Personally, what Cruise is doing rates up there with the crap pulled by Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson and the other fristian fundies

17. I'm convinced that William Hung is an actor hired by American Idol
That is seriously the only way he makes any sense what soever to me. But at least he's not batshit insane like Cruise.

18. Tom Cruise has a discernable talent, which isn't having people make fun of
him.

That alone puts him WAY ahead for me.

Plus, as I've mentioned before, after the first "Mission Impossible" he had me at hi, hey, whatever.

Of course, it seems he's finally gone insane, which is unfortunate.
