2. I don't know what happened, or why.
I saw snippets on TV, but haven't paid attention. I'm curious, too.

11. Well I was just thinking of slapping someone the other day
What's with all these remakes of movies? No original ideas in Hollywood these days?

I have no intention of seeing the new Willy Wonka. The original version with Gene Wilder is a classic and it's downright disrespectful to remake it.

Now they are remaking The Longest Yard. Huh?

And I saw a commercial for Bewitched starring Nicole Kidman.

Come on, let's be original and let these classics stay classics.

12. Hollywood has run out of ideas,
so they have to remake movies that have no business being remade. I will, though, check out the new Willy Wonka. I think if anyone can come close at all to playing Gene Wilder's character, it would be Johnny Depp. Although, no one will be able to top Gene. And yes it is a classic.

16. I was thinking of starting a thread
asking for a list of all the remakes. There are far too many, IMO.

And hey, isn't it about time someone remade A Star is Born? There have been only - what 3 versions of that classic?

17. it's about the bottom line
it is cheaper to advertise something people are already familiar with, you don't have to introduce them to it and sell them the product, they already know what it is. it's all about the money.

Garfield, Scooby Doo, Dukes of Hazard etc..........
