Anyone spend much time on the East side of Baja, California?

I am going their in two weeks with several friends to explore, sea kayak, snorkel, camp, look for exotic reptiles, mammals and birds and occasionally drink Mexican Beer in a rustic hotel on remote beech's with crystal clear deep blue water under palm trees.

What should I absolutely not miss?

1. SAN FELIPE is wonderful.. We always took vacations there

It's a sleepy little place (at least it USED to be)..very reasonably priced too :)

2. Is it rustic or are they building golf courses? nt

3. It's been a while since we were there. It was still rustic then

Just a few hotels..and lots of open space.. desert on one side of the road..beach on the other..

a very small downtown market area, and a few restaurants..

I hope they have not "citified" it too much..

there's a big off road race that goes thru there every year..
