I Just got ANOTHER recruiting pamphlet from the Army,

Remember folks, I'm 35, an asthmatic, about 30 pounds ooverweight AND they turned me down when I was in high school because of my extremely poor vision. Think they'd take me now? I'm gonna guess yes.

On the plus side I would've been in during the first Gulf War--instead I went to college, takes the sting out of the poor eyesight thing, if I think about it!

1. I don't get it. Where did they get your name?

Tell me not when you registered or tried to enlist when you were younger. Have you made any inquiries recently? :shrug:

2. Now that's a good question,

I don't know where they got my name--but have it they do. My guess is that since I'm in grad school (Public Health: Industrial Hygiene) they've noticed me. None of my classmates have been contacted yet, though.

But since they had so much info on me back in 1987 I can't believe they think I'm still 18. The brochure does say something about being an officer, so who knows.....

3. I get fancy foldout postcards from them occasionally...

Air Force, though. I'm almost 47 and a RN, so I guess they get my name off a database of licenses with the state. They must think I'm about 32 if they are basing it on the original license date.
