35. He's a pedophile? Any evidence of that?
Personally, I think he's an asshole who happens to be a good musician. (or perhaps the reverse, if you will)

I like a lot of his music, but find him to be a reprehensible human being. I imagine I'd have said the same about a shitload of famous musicians/composers, had I the experience of being exposed to their personalities.

Please educate me to proof of his "pedophilia" instead of tossing out wild accusations because of your distaste of the "person". I'd be interested to know if that claim is founded on fact.

43. He admitted it on a VH1 Behind the Music episode about him
that he had had scores of "affairs" with underaged girls, even lived with one for a while, and blamed it on his drinking problem. (Probably feeling extremely positive about the statute of limitations.)

3. Multiple choice
Why can't someone be both a moronic gun nut and very musically talented. Nuge's got the chops, but like most rock'n'rollers, he's a vain, irresponsible man-child with enough money to justify whatever sanctimonious feelings he wants to hold toward the "little people" he wins his bread from.

5. He's been talking about running for Governor of Michigan
Or at least, some repubs have talked about him running.
He had a morning radio show in Detroit a couple of years ago. No one listened. He couldn't horn in on the "Howard Stern" audience, and the religious right has no use for him. I believe that Howard was making fun of him on a regular basis, too.

A long time ago, when I was a teenager, Ted would come to Grand Rapids for a concert once in a while. The born again crowd would picket outside due to the sexually provacative lyrics of some of his songs. Ted was known for ripping their signs from their hands and throwing them in the river.

7. Look, Ted's not so bad.
I mean sure he likes to hunt and everything but thats not terrible. Surely some state would love to take Ted off Michigan's hands. He is not nearly as bad as some think he is. Please, he needs a home. Get him out of here. His raving isn't really a problem. You can have him cheap. Please.... take him..... pretty please.....

22. do you think ...

Maybe you could make it a condition of Michigan taking Toronto's garbage that Toronto have to take Ted Nugent?

Seems like a fair exchange. And hell, Toronto's big on diversity, so there'd have to be a place in its heart for Ted. But would Ted love Toronto ...

9. I think he's tormented from within. Serious! I remember reading way back
about 1976?, official reports/personal interviews, he is totally deaf in 1 ear and 40% deaf in the other ear. (From concerts).

What the report didn't say is this usually is accompanied by loud ringing in the ears, tinnitus. This isn't just a passing note. This can be a terrible psychological torment enough to cause serious mental problems.

----
Patients with tinnitus usually present to our office desperately looking for a solution for their multiple problems. The effect on the individual can vary from mild awareness to reduced work capacity, lack of concentration, total disability, and in some cases suicide.

21. I have tinnitus and it didn't make me a reich wing kissass!
I hear the bugs you here in the summertime, when it's 30 below zero! Sometimes it is hard to handle! I worked as a piledriver for almost 30 years off and on! Finally about 10 years ago OSHA told the pile driving contractors we needed earplugs! I was allready hearing the bugs by then! It is nice when I'm ice fishing and the summer bugs are singing to me! Makes me feel all warm all over! Also running Karaoke and playing music in bars might have done some damage over the years! I think being married all your life hurts your ears too, in more ways than one!

12. IMO, he is a racist, pin-headed, misogynistic geek,
who is trying to keep a flagging career going, but failing miserably. As has gone the day of the dinosaur, so shall go the guitar masturbating, long-haired, groupie-groping male chauvinist musician.

We as a society are moving on - for the most part. (The flat-earth types are still clinging onto the "Live Gonzo"and "Intensities in 10 Cities" way of living.)

But that is just my 1/50th of a dollar's worth.

Thanks for reading.

14. I tried to find something redeemable
His rock is 30 years old and juvenile. His guitar playing is fast but not very interesting. His hunting explotation is revolting - as are his political views. He is even pretty damn ugly. I think the thing I do appreciate about him is that I rarely ever hear him on the radio anymore, he is almost never disgracing my tv and he gets little print. He is the definition of a has-been and I rarely ever hear of him outside of DU - what's up with that?

23. I like his music despite the fact that he's a big-mouthed asshole
with wrong-headed political opinions. Even if he wasn't a reich-winger, he's still be a big-mouthed asshole; that's just his personality. Being a reich-winger just makes him even more obnoxious. But I still dig listening to "Cat Scratch Fever", "Wango Tango", "Free for All" , "Wang Dang Sweet Poontang", "Journey to the Center of the Mind"--basically his music from the seventies (and earlier for the Amboy Dukes). Hated his stuff with Damn Yankees, and I've only heard one song from his new album--yes, he's still making new albums--so I haven't formed an opinion on that one.

24. I went with draft-dodging pants crapper
I admire those who went to Canada because of principle, thinking they'd never come home again, but it is the height of self-serving hypocrisy to duck the draft and, years later, pose as a macho, gung-ho, fire-eating red-white-and-blue Super Merkin. If deer and other critters could operate automatic weapons, Ted would be doing needlepoint.
John
Ted's an okay musician -- if you like overamped, three-chord rock and roll.

27. I despise the man, his politics, and -- for the most part -- his music.
With one exception: "Stranglehold."

Sometimes you wanna get high.
But sometimes you gotta start low.
Some people just wanna die someday.
I've got news for ya: you never have to go.

I absolutely get pumped up whenever that song comes on.

genes sometimes. His brother was the nicest guy you'd ever want to meet. What a brother he had! (someone close to me worked with his brother).

It's sad, really. But, I guess it's the way it is....in families, or some families. I have a weird family myself and always wonder about the great cohesive families one reads about who all get together for reunions and love and care about each other.

My brother could be Ted Nugent. But he doesn't have Nugent's big $$$$$$$$'s. But he's got the mouth and everything else! Blech!

48. How come
nobody ever does to these right wing nuts what the right does to the lefties. Look at how Sarandon, Robbins, The Barbra, Penn, Depp, etc get trashed for speaking their minds (you know stars shouldn't speak on politics... they have no mind for it). But let Heston speak incoherantly from his mount, or Ahnald run for governor, or Nuggie say something and no one friggin blinks... And the right has a multiple orgasm over their "insightfull viewpoints".

Do unto others...
