I am really down today.
Maybe it is just my clinical depression, and maybe it is because I am very disappointed that in spite of all of my efforts to promote Liberal/Progressive media I cannot get the major players in the game to work with me, and maybe both, but I am really blackly depressed today.

That's all. I just needed to say that.

3. I second that suggestion....
Nothing brightens my mood more than a walk or bike ride. Just getting outdoors is usually good for at least a couple of notches on the mood scale!

15. That's exactly right .
I am currently taking 10 days off from work because I needed to get away from it for a while . In fact a lot of my co-workers are .

23. Yes, you should take a break.

My weekend in California, despite having been spent with my stressful family and filled with pain (migraine, back/shoulder strain, other crap) was probably the only thing that kept me from totally losing my shit over the news about The Compromise when I got back.

2. Thanks for sharing
remember, that with each breath, there's hope. Might not seem that way (been there in the darkest night), but its there anyway. Take it from one who knows. Good luck.

10. I wish I could!
White Rose has to be run actively like 12 hours each day. No amount of automation will make internet stream recording reliable, and I basically have to watch everything happen or lose programs. And I cannot possibly have a credible media source if I am always missing programs!

Of course, when things go well, I hear almost nothing, but as soon as something is broken, I hear about it from everybody!

:argh:

7. I feel for you. From what I've read and heard it is really tough
to get the Lib/Prog media to "help out" on this. That's why I listen to AAR. Maybe we could do another email campaign or something. It has to change!

9. You're taking medication for the depression, right?
If so, my guess is that the frustration is triggering your episode, and that after you take a break for a bit, you'll feel better.

It really is OK to let someone else save the world for a day or two. It doesn't have to be you every single day.

There's a lot of therapeutic value, and NO shame at all, in saying "I just can't do this today" once in a while. That's a lesson that's of great benefit to us chronic pain people, and I think would work for you too.

13. Yeah. Have been since '88.
But some days it doesn't do a totally effective job.

Makes me wish I had a connection to some herbal self-medication, it does.

16. When I was in running a few years ago there was a rule of
thumb about why some people had lousy days. One thing we learned was look at what has happened in the previous few days prior. Was there something like a diet or schedule change? But first take some time off! Rest is a part of training!!

18. Well, go find yourself some ditchweed, if that helps;
I don't partake myself, but it doesn't seem that hard to find these days.

And remember what I said about giving yourself some slack once in a while. It really helps.

11. I know what you mean.
For some reason, I'm feeling at low ebb these days too, in spite of the lovely spring.

However, you should know you have fans. You may not see all the effects of your work, but you make an impact on me, and many others, with every post.

It's hard to be motivated when feeling that way. I agree that maybe taking a break will do you some good.

Hang in there.
