Feng shui, is it considered ok to have photos of dead people
in the house or in a room?

1. Nope, don't think so. Feng Shui doesn't like dead plants,
broken clocks, etc., anything that does not represent an alive and active component of nature. I don't recall seeing many pictures of people, dead or alive in rooms using this method of placement. I love to read and study (definitely an amateur) Feng Shui, the concept is so interesting.

Just my two cents.

2. My experience
I'm married to a Chinese person born and raised in Hong Kong. Whatever there is to know about placement, we've got the market cornered.

I have a portrait of my late grandfather. It's a beautiful thing, but whenever I try to hang it anywhere in our home, other things in our lives just get so screwed up, I've finally consigned the portrait to the back of a closet. Hidden behind other things.

Is there anything to feng shui? My personal consultant would tell you that harmony and balance are everything, and that there are dangerous and evil forces at work all the time.

I'm still a skeptical OldLeftieLawyer, but the portrait stays in the back of the closet, and each doorway has a mirror facing it on the other side of the room, and all that jazz.

10. My life has taught me to respect that which I see,
but cannot explain.

If you get a large enough sample, and it's consistent, you've got to look for a cause-and-effect, even if it's irrational.

Hell, life's irrational, when you think about it.

8. We had a tree blocking good fortune from our front door.
Miz t. started reading about feng shui.
Had the tree pulled out.
The roots pulled up part of the septic system pipes.
$700 later we still haven't won the lottery.

5. LOL!
You might be a Nazi! One could take all the "you might be a redneck if" jokes and replace "redneck" with "Nazi" and tweak 'em a bit. :D

6. That's great!
I'd buy the book... (Sad part is that many people who it could be applied to would just say that they're being "good patriotic Americans".) How can we get these people to wake up???

9. I already feel as though DU is home.
Thanks for the welcome. WONDERFUL picture!

Humor's one of the few things that can help us to get through this long, cold Winter. Hopefully, Spring will be coming soon and we can again relax and enjoy our country without having to continuously protect everything that we love about it.

I know that DU will help to keep me sane!
