7. I'll go for the titmouse
they have such fiesty personalities. Though so tiny they will grab a whole peanut and take it away. Brave little birds!

I also love cardinals. The other night I saw the male cardinal feed his mate a sunflower seed. It was so sweet.

22. I played with a couple of hyacinth youngsters, once.
They were nine months old and I had trouble extricating them from my person. :) Imagine having two huge blue birds hanging off your shirt. :D

44. At Walt Disney World I met one
There were two *gorgeous* Hyacinth Macaws sitting on a fence. The birds there have the run of the zoo, and these parrots were just sitting there. A tourist who apparently was not experienced with birds was holding out his finger in exactly the wrong way: wiggling it just under the macaw's beak in the spot where their vision is a bit blurry, and the bird was looking like he was going to take a bite (expecting a nut, I guess). So I walked over, offered my arm, and told the macaw to step up, which she did, which distracted her long enough that she didn't try to bite the guy's finger.

This macaw was four feet long! She was HUGE! I'm only four feet ten inches tall, and it looked funny to be holding a bird that big. She put her beak around my arm (checking the balance) and it closed around my arm--that was so neat, she could fit her entire beak around my arm!

Then a zoo worker ran over and told me not to touch the animals. I said, "I just offered, she touched me!" and was *not* thrown out of the park.

I still think the guy would've gotten nipped, too.

Tucker

are actually bright yellow skin. There's also a yellow stripe down each side of the macaw's black tongue. These guys are fun to play with. :D

On edit: this is the world's largest parrot.

26. Ravens
I love ravens, and I love the fact that I can just look out my window to the city street to see them doing the nutty raven things they do.

I've also heard that they're actually quite intelligent, and that captive ravens have been taught to mimic human speech, much like parrots.

29. Ravens are much larger than crows,
have a more raucous call, a larger beak and ruffled neck feathers. Crows' neck feathers appear more smooth.

46. It's nice living in one of the most...
...geologically and biologically diverse areas in the world.

There is an amazing collection of birds in Northwestern Ontario,

The Whiskey Jack

The Golden Eagle

The Great Horned Owl

And of course the Loon, these things are huge. I was snorkeling once and didn’t realize I was about 5 feet from one until I looked up at it. It must have been 2 feet long.

There's a bunch more here

not Blue Jays, bluebirds. Got some bluebird houses build to specs up at the farm, really enjoy watching the parents build nests and feed the babies. Very quickly sneak peeks at the babies too. :)
