Well, I got my cat

the one I mentioned in my post the other day. He's recovering nicely from his amputation(his entire hind leg). We've got him in a room by himself for a few days so he can have quiet while he continues to recover from his surgery.

The other two cats are sniffing at the door constantly. I think they want to know who this new cat is. Catnip has been scattered everywhere to induce that laid back feeling among all three kitties.

Funny thing is, none of the dogs have taken any notice whatsoever of the new cat. I know they all know he's there.

And we went ahead and named him "Stumpy Joe". That seemed to be the consensus of opinion.

He is a beautiful animal, sweet, affectionate, and good-tempered. I know we'll all be very happy with him, including the dogs.

right choice for the name, also. all my cats have "human" names. i think they're too noble for whimsical names, & the qualifying "nick" you've added is a tribute to his purple-heart status.


you've done a very good thing, forgethell. stumpy joe wd have had some trouble getting adopted.
