Watching the documentary on the SLA tonight on "The American Experience" got me to thinking that we need our own liberation army here in the lounge. Who wants to join up? And what shall we call it?

because I was having a reverie about marching after the posts from Houston re: the demonstration against Haliberton and the horse police mowing people down on the sidewalks. You tend to forget about the billy clubs, and the mace, and the tasers. I was visioning bike helmet, leather jacket, heavy gloves, snow pants with a magazine in the seat, and maybe a protest sign with a steel pole. This is for a peaceful protest. I don't ever advocate starting violence. Orderly, permit for a parade, preapproved through City-hall demonstrations. Never, and I mean never go marching, picketing, demonstrating, rallying, parading, without the proper authorization. You will be arrested. Besides it gives one time for planning the parade route, traffic considerations, advertising for marchers and observers, news coverage, a place to hold some speeches...
