1. LOL I had a couple in my room last night
Try NOT to watch them when you are trying to go to sleep and you know all you have to do is open your eyes to see them.

3. In your room?
I kinda like them outside. I can see how they'd be distracting in the house.

6. I think they get in through my skylight.
Not as bad as waking up with a junebug crawling through your beard. :-)

They amuse my cats, though.

9. Fireflies are better than junebugs. I agree!
If I had a cat, maybe they'd be amused by some of the other insect life that finds its way into my house.

16. Yes, and the insects cut your cat food bill, too. nt.

18. What's the Humane Society's number?
Wait a second...this isn't some cat adoption plot, is it?

5. There were a couple playing in the stream of the hose.

I guess they wanted a shower. :D

7. I'm happy for you. They're a sign of summer, and
always great to see (especially if you have kids who get excited about them).

Been too damn cold here--I suspect we'll start seeing them about August, at this rate.

But I'm not complaining; total $$ spent on air conditioning in the office this year is 0. Usually a bunch by now.

10. It's been the surface of the sun around here the last couple of days.
A/C has been running for a quite a while now. Cha-ching.

And, the only kid in this house is me. :D

12. That's OK, you can enjoy the fireflies even without
a kid around. I would.

But you can have the hot weather; keep it all to yourself and don't send any up this way, and I won't mind.

13. If I have to have the hot weather, at least I have the fireflies.
Oh, and you guys can keep all that snow and ice. I'm glad I don't have to deal with it, and can visit it at my leisure. :)

15. OK, we'll come down there in the winter, and you
can come up here in the Fall for all the colored trees.

And we'll drink to celebrate both.

Deal?

17. Deal!
I like the way you think. Spring here in Texas is really nice, as well. Wildflowers everywhere. It's really pretty.

22. The year and a half I lived in Houston, believe it or not,
I never got out to Austin. Particularly ironic given that one of the bands I had in Houston, I named "Austin-Western." (Yes, kind of copycatting Buffalo Springfield, and naming a band after a manufacturer of construction equipment. But it sure beat "Bucksnort Trout Farm," which was the band's original name.)

I hear it's a terrific place. Gotta get there some day.

23. I love it here.
A great vibe, especially in central and south Austin. If I have to live in Texas, I'm glad it's here.

8. I've seen a grand total of two
the past couple of weeks here in Leander, Texas. They're still a real thrill, though.
