17. The Banana Man...
Was dressed like an old tramp....it would pull a wagon out on stage while singing a peculiar song in falsetto.

The Banana Man would then pull off an article of clothing, and discover bunches of bananas....and would cry out "wow!" in the same goofy falsetto.

La-la-lalala....Wooooooow! (bananas)

Eventually the wagon would be full of bananas, the stage would be littered with clothes, and the "Banana Man" would yank off a mask and the remaining clothes and you would see the Banana Man was a scantily clad blond.

Wish I could do justice to the peculiarity of the spectacle...

21. One of the many weird acts from the early days of TV
Remember Louie the Wonder dog? His trainer would run around frantically setting up flaming hoops and ladders and seesaws while the orchestra would play the Sabre Dance frantically...and Louis would lie motionless and stare at the proceedings, occasionally yawning. The big fianlly was that the trainer would lift Louie up and pass him through the flaming hoop while the dog remained motionless.

Durward Kirby, his sidekick, was equally famous and could do none of those....

24. But she actually made her TV debut on
The Paul Winchell and Jerry Mahoney Show.

They had a clubhouse set up, and people who were going to appear on the show slid down a chute into the clubhouse. The first regular female character was named Mary Ellen, but one day, when they were expecting Mary Ellen, the doorbell rang, and when Paul Winchell asked who it was, there was just a sound like chickens squawking. When he asked the person to come in, it was Carol Burnett, and she was a regular on the show after that.

So I already knew who Carol Burnett was when she began appearing with Garry Moore.

Actually I might have been a little old for this test since I knew those kid's shows but my younger siblings watched them more intently than I did since I was busy reading the Hardy Boys mysteries (after having read all of the Bobbsey Twins whom I NEVER hear referred to on DU).
