Did anybody damage your car because of your Kerry stickers? Please tell.
Some jackass on phl.media would like me to "cite" some examples of people having their cars keyed or otherwise damaged because of their Kerry stickers. If this happened to you, could you please check in here? Thanks!

3. Hasn't happened to me.
But I live in a blue county. I remember some people relating some incidents. Try searching the forums.

6. Not vandalized but
Some asswipe stuck one of those yellow "Support Our Troops" ribbons magnet on my car. I moved it right next to my Kerry/Edwards sticker.

8. Never
Funny, 'cause I had "Hail to the Thief!" and "Friends Don't Let Friends Vote Republican" stickers on my car for almost four years and never had any damage to my car, or even a threatening note. And it's been the same with the "Texas Democrat" and "John Kerry for President" stickers that I have now. I live in a "red" but not quite FReeperesque area; our local Democratic Party is still the dominant party but the county went 60+% for Shrub in '04.

10. A couple of weeks after the election -
Someone stripped my Kerry sticker completely off my back window. Just gone - no sign of it anywhere. Kucinich is still hanging in there though.

Not quite damage to the CAR itself - but still vandalism.

14. But, just to be fair, we have people here at DU, who advocate
vandalism...they think it's OK to slap derogatory stickers on SUVs because they think that their political opinions are more important than respect for other people's property...

Everybody, on both sides of the political fence, should keep their fucking hands off other people's cars (and other property). Period.

Why is this concept so hard for some folks to understand?

11. Check out this link
Bush supporters were afraid to put stickers on their cars for fear of vandalism:

12. Odd
That's funny there are actually places where * supporters were scared to put their annoying signs/bumper stickers up/on. It's anecdotal, but most of the sign vandalism I know of has happened to Democrats and most of the folks I've known who were scared to put stickers on their cars were Democrats. The only Repugs I knew who wouldn't put stickers on their car just didn't 'cause they didn't want to lower the value of their vehicle.

13. I've stopped putting bumper stickers on my cars..
the Kerry campaign had great removable flags that could be mounted on windows. I hope Democratic campaigns make these widely available in 2006. People willing to damage property for political causes are simply too sick to be helped.

Once I tried to convert die-hard Republicans to Democrats, now I believe the law of cause and effect can change their views.

17. No, but the Kerry sticker damaged my jacket
I had a round 3-inch Kerry sticker on my coat and it ruined the coat. It didn't come off cleanly, and left a residue. Ruined it.

18. I was "keyed for Kerry".
Big scratch all the way down the passenger side of my car.

I wussed out and took the sticker off the day after the sElection - I figured if I left it on, the neanderthal repigs around here (Houston) would beat my poor car to death with a sledge hammer or something of that nature, and I cannot afford to fix the damages. :(

19. somebody damaged two tires and a wheel
and may have contributed to the mechanical failure that triggered an accident that totalled my car.

The damage occured in a parking lot in which I had a verbal confrontation with some bush supporters over my Kerry and DU stickers.

20. No prob here in blue, blue, New York...
...oddly, the only "dubya" stickers I see are on SUVs. God bless, 'em! They're brave enough to stand up to people who believe you have the right to speak your mind!

21. My K/E sticker is still on. I did have to patch my tire a once or twice..
because of a screw/nail that somehow ended up inside my Bridgestone Potenza. There's no way to tell if the device was placed there on purpose or picked up by accident.
