and I have to run out of the house briefly but--
a friend of mine is here--the guy who thinks Clinton killed the economly and Bush is great, runs away when I tried to IM him the famous graph showing the federal budget over the last several generations.

Well, he was just saying how he's worried about turning 40 and retirement and Social Security. So I said "Welll, I told you" So guess what? He starts on "Bush is trying to save it and its Congress who keeps blocking him."

I know its not like that, but he is good at remembering little factoids (even if he does skew them), while I can't remember a fucking thing. I can't counter anything he says because I can't remember, particularly stuff like this that is numbers and percentage and policy based. SHIT He was going about how there are only 3 people paying into SS now per person who draws on it, compared to many years ago when there were 15 or so.

I just couldn't remember any details to support any kind of intelligent fact sharing. GODDAMMMIT goddam this peice of shit memory of mine. I tried to explain about Bush's plan steals the money and gives it to Wall Street, but I couldn't remember enough to make any sense.

Any clear concise website I could point him to, that you know of?

Or maybe it just doesn't matter......

2. it infuriates me so much

knowing someone is telling me bullshit and I can't come up with ANY real info to back myself up. Especially this kind of subject--money, percentages, stock market, ---can't remember a damn thing. ARGHH I am flaming mad!

(I found a good article here--searched for social security in the editorials/articles section. Found a good link that was so in depth market talk, I couldn't absorb a thing. All I know is, Bush plan: BAD! LIAR!! WARNING!!! DISASTER!!

And you're right, I have to stop this besmirchment of weasels, they are cute little animals and don't deserve it.

I really lose my mind at work, surrounded by bunches of fundies and a few non=fundy bushites. The effort of keeping all interactions with them to strictly shallow joking is realllllllllly wearing on me.
