How were the Clone Wars cartoons, if you're a true Star Wars fan?
I really enjoyed the first three movies like anyone who was born in the early 70s, but I really dispise The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones.

I'm curious, however, if those Clone Wars deals were better than the theatrical prequels. Any thoughts? Are they "official" and 100% endorsed as "true" to the storyline by Lucas?

Personally I reject as "true" a lot of the stuff in TPM

2. Was it serious, or kinda goofy like Samurai Jack
which I admit I've never watched.

5. My bf is an original Star Wars fan
He was born in 73, and he loves the CW cartoons. He said if those crappy movies were like the cartoons, they would have been eminently more watchable.

6. I bought the DVD of them - they're pretty good!
There are some incredible jedi fight scenes in them.

And for the most part, I give 'em a big thumbs up. They aren't quite up to snuff, but then, they only have three minutes to try to tell a whole story, so it's hard to judge them appropriately. How much can you really do in three minutes, you know?

8. Is the DVD in 3 minute episodes or
did they mush them all together?

12. Thanks!
The avatar is the wraith on wings from Bakshi's 1978 version of The Lord of the Rings: Part One.

Glad you like it!

10. I thought they were very good
The last volume ( III I believe) which aired a month or so ago ends right where Episode III begins.

11. I'd reject them as not Star Wars canon.
The whole Assaj Ventress thing really annoyed me... Yet another Sith or Sith-like figure besides Palpatine and Dooku even though we've constantly been told that there can only be two.

They were fun to watch every once in a while but I didn't particularly like them -- the series and the animation style. I would have preferred something a bit more serious like the Batman Animated Series.
