11 Year Old Girl Pitches PERFECT Baseball Game (Struck Out ALL Batters)
Edited on Thu May-19-05 01:56 PM by matcom
<snip>

OAKFIELD, N.Y. -- Katie Brownell is now glad she didn't give up baseball for softball.

The shy 11-year-old has pitched a perfect game for her New York Little League team. Officials of the Oakfield-Alabama Little League program said they can't remember anybody -- boy or girl -- ever pitching a perfect game before.

Katie struck out all 18 batters in the six-inning victory. She never got to a three-ball count on any of them.

Her Dodgers scored an 11-nothing win over the rival Little League Yankees. Katie's mom, Denise Bischoff, said her little ace has always played baseball with her older brothers.

Katie's no slouch at the plate, either. She's hitting .714 through the team's first three games.

11. If I was 11, I'd ask her out.
That's the coolest thing. When I was a kid, the best baseball player around was a girl. Back then, girls were not allowed to play in Little League and when our town finally got around to organizing girl's softball....this particular girl just astounded everybody.

For the record, I once pitched a one-walk no-hitter when I was 10, but I didn't pitch it in LL. It was in the 9 & 10 yo League that we called "Minor League". Later that season I got called up to Little League and pitched a 2 hit shutout that I struck out 16 in though.

Yeah, I was quite a pitching phenom in my youth. Now I'm old and washed-up. :cry:
