Matterhorn is falling down,
Falling down,
Falling down.
Matterhorn is falling down,
My fair lady.

Global warming melts it down,
Melts it down,
Melts it down.
Global warming melts it down,
My fair lady.

Can we freeze it right back up?
Right back up,
Right back up?
Can we freeze it right back up?
My fair lady.

Sorry, dear, it's gone for good,
Gone for good,
Gone for good.
Sorry, dear, it's gone for good,
My fair lady.

1. cute
but after losing the man of the mountain in NH this spring, and untold millions of other less obvious environmental treasures, this is not a source for humor, to me anyway.

the world is literally falling down around us, but of course our glorious leader says there is no truth to global warming or environmental catastrophe.

sad.....

2. Sad indeed.
And I suspect we've passed the point where we can stop the damage anytime soon - even if we changed a lot of policies today, it would surely take decades before things cooled off (literally and figuaratively.) :-(

3. sorry
No humor intended. I think it is sad.
I lived in NH for several years, and visited the Old Man many times.
Yes, the world does appear to be falling down, literally and figuratively.

I have heard that they plan to rebuild the Old Man using concrete and rebar. That's ludicrous. Might as well let Disney stick a fiberglass one up.

I wonder if my grandson will someday read bout the glaciers and mountains of central Europe that used to exist?

4. Matterhorn isn't melting. it's part of a plan...
http://www.flash.net/~kpellman/Underground.html

<snip>

The underground portion, which few know about, was designed by folks from the Research & Development department of Walt Disney Imagineering, as well as the FBI and CIA, with many of the same features that are used in the Pentagon and the White House. Disney is still reaping the benefits of Walt's work for the FBI.

<snip>

Moving eastward, from the CC, you quickly come to a huge cavern. This is directly under the Matterhorn Bobsleds attraction. In the event of a major catastrophe that threatens the mountain, the attraction will retract into this cavern and be protected from harm. In recent years, some of the mechanisms that make this possible have been experiencing slight problems, resulting in minor "sinking" on the part of the Matterhorn. Also, water from the Submarine Lagoon has been known to leak into this space, and cast members have been known to swim in the makeshift pool on hot Summer days. So, the next time someone tells you that the Matterhorn is sinking, or that the Submarine Lagoon is leaking, you'll know what they are talking about.

<more>

Oh, you're talking about global warming...never mind..
