Help with a scar?
Anyone know a good cream or salve (to purchase or to be made at home) to reduce scarring? A friend had some skin cancer spots removed in a visible area, one of the areas zapped is kind of deep, and would like to know what might help the skin mend a little bit to reduce scarring, something that preferably doesn't cost a fortune.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

3. Cocoa butter works great for stretch marks
during pregnancy.

Or your friend might check this out: http://www.dermisil.com/dermisil.htm

When my kids were little, I taught them to take chances and not to be afraid of falling or failing. Then, when they'd fall and hurt themselves, I would tell them, as I bandaged them up, that they might have a scar (kids love scars).

The line that still resonates through our house is: "Scars tell stories, and stories are what sometimes get you through the night."

Just some scar wisdom, so to speak. Good luck to your friend.

And always use sunscreen...............

7. Wow. You're not a doctor. And you don't play one on TV.
But you give medical advice based on what you watch on TV.

I see.

8. vitamin E
If that doesn't work, the other creams won't either. Sorry. If you could remove scars that easily, none of us would be scarred. It usually requires reconstructive surgery or maybe dermabrasion. :-(

9. thanks, all - I'll do a little research
and try to send her a care package... she's just bummed, things have been really hard for her lately and on top of it she's got stitches now in a tender area and most likely a big scar.
