Would they rather I had explosive diarrhea on the sales floor?
Edited on Wed May-18-05 08:22 PM by AlienGirl
I got sudden stomach pain, cramping, nausea, and all that fun stuff. So I called in sick. When I told the manager I was sick, she snappishly replied, "And you're not telling me this eight hours before your shift? Why are you telling me fifteen minutes before your shift?"

:grr: 'Cause I can't re-schedule gastro-intestinal distress, and you probably don't want me having explosive diarrhea on the sales floor?

1. Sounds like the manager is an idiot...
I would have been like, "I woke up 30 minutes ago. After spending 15 minutes on the toilet straining, I called you to let you know that I can't come in rather than just not showing up. If you want, I could come to work and have some explosive diarrhea in front of the customers, if you'd like." :eyes:

2. I once puked on one of the managers
Unfortunately, she wasn't on duty tonight. Instead it was the one who really doesn't like me, despite my having stayed late several times to make her life easier.

4. I had a manager like that...
He didnt care if you were on your deathbed.. if he had to be called in when he wasnt working or if he had to stay late to work your shift he took it out on EVERYONE.

Asshole.

5. She won't have to stay late or anything
There are two people scheduled in my department tonight 'cause it's truck day. At worst she'll have to put away some of the freight.

6. Oh he hated that too..
If he had to put away any part of the order he'd be the most miserable jerk the rest of his shift. He would rather sit in his office and either gab on his phone or surf the internet.

RARELY would he come out.

7. As a manager, he shouldn't ask you to do anything he wouldn't do.
And if he does, he's a prick and must be stopped.

8. I hope you're feeling better. I have ulcerative colitis, so I can
relate. Your boss is a butthead. If it were her, she'd have done the same thing, I bet.

11. I usually use that excuse when I can't come up with anything else.
The first mention of diarrhea usually shuts the boss right up and caving in to my demands. I guess some people don't like to talk about such things.

12. You could always offer to bag a stool sample...
if she requires proof that you were 'really sick'

What a witch.
