So, that Army guy just called me again.
This time, fully awake and lucid, I told the gentleman in no uncertain terms that I had no intention of sacrificing my life in a war I did not agree with. He said, well, what about the Army Reserves? I was like, well, they're getting called up too, so that's no guarantee. And I politely, but firmly told him that I would not consider the matter any further, and I hung up.

They'll have to have a draft to get me, and even then, they'll have to find me, first! :D

3. Thing is, why are they calling me now?
They haven't said a word to me since I left high school, and now they're trying to sign me up? Are their recruit numbers THAT bad?

5. Yes and their publicity sucks too
Army & Marines are down like 40% - just go to Michael Moore's website to read more about it

10. I think I'd heard about that.
Either way, I'm not helping with their cannon fodder shortage.

6. If they want to draft me and send me to Iraq,
they'll need a plane big enough for me and my telephone pole!

7. Next time, I'll answer the phone
When he finds out that I'm a retired AF guy, he'll leave you alone.

9. I'm with you, but
I'm not going even if they find me. They'll have to forcibly push me in that direction and--even then--there's no guarantee that I won't leave at my first oppurtunity (go AWOL). They'll have to lock me up, which won't really help them.

Ain't no way I'm taking another human life. Especially not for the inhumane fucked up reasons we're there to begin with.

11. Right after I graduated HS
I had one of those recruiters call me and we weren't even at war yet. I swear they don't take no for an answer...even the I'm going to college in the fall won't deter them. I finally had to just say "no I am on no terms interested in joining the army, please do not call here ever again" and then I hung up. Funny thing was he called a bunch of my friends that week...must have gotten a list from the school or something.
