2. Dio has rocked for a long, long time,
Now it's time for him to pass the torch.
He has songs of wildebeests and angels,
He has soared on the wings of a demon.

It's time to pass the torch,
You're too old to rock, no more rockin' for you.
We're takin' you to a home,
But we will sing a song about you.

And we will make sure that you're very well taken care of.
You'll tell us secrets that you've learned. Raow!
Your sauce will mix with ours,
And we'll make a good goulash baby.
Dio, time to go!
You must give your cape and scepter to me.
And a smaller one for KG.
Go! Go! Dio! Dio!

5. Dio/Blackmore
Power, power it happens every day
Power, devour all along the way
Oh no, move me out of harm
I need a spell and a charm
Fly like the wind
I'm no pawn, so be gone, speed on and on
Kill the King

It was one of the best concerts of my life! I was about ten feet away from the man. :headbang:

7. Need to hear more of his stuff.
I've definitely liked. . . make that love what I've heard, which isn't much... His work with Black Sabbath on the album Heaven and Hell (In fact think I'll listen to some Neon Knights in a moment) and Holy Diver. I haven't heard any of his Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow stuff though, but I'm making my way towards it.

8. I saw him about five years ago

Medium sized club, it was fire marshals wet dream. They had us packed in like sardines all the way to the back of the house. There was no chairs, thank GOD. He played some Rainbow, some Old Sabbath and Holy Diver practically in it's entirety.

Every time he gave the horns, it was like a shock of lightning went through his hands and the crowd went nuts. It was incredible. Especially after being subjected by this ass hat's opening set

Go ahead guess.

16. One of my neighbors growing up
he was a real good guitarist, but he used his powers for the forces of evil...ie he was into Yngwie, Satriani etc. He basically wanted to use a guitar for musical masturbation

so sad. He coulda been the next Buddy Guy

31. Hey, don't lump Satriani in there!
There's a big difference between Yngwie I can't spell his name and Satriani. Satriani wasn't just about showing off. His music was real art; it sounded good.

35. Ewww - I had to experience him opening for DIO in '91 or so
I had liked Yngwie before then - talented guitarist, but boring after a while, like Satriani. I could listen to a CD, but only one listen, and not always all the way through.

But, I was excited to be seeing DIO *and* Yngwie in the same show. I'd seen DIO many times before, but never Yngwie, and had long wanted to see him play in real life.

Man, was he boring. He was nowhere near as bad as Vinnie Vincent Invasion opening for Alice Cooper - that actually sucked. Yngwie didn't suck, he just wasn't at all interesting after about two minutes.

38. On his comeback tour - '87 maybe? '86?
I saw his second or third show of that tour (Saginaw, Michigan). Great show!! Still had a few effects that weren't quite working, but an incredible good time. Alice really knows how to put on a show.

Except for Vinnie Vincent.

9. wow, there is a name I haven't heard in years
He wasn't a young guy when I saw him in concert 20 or 21 years ago at the New Haven (CT) Coliseum... I had 9th row on floor seats. Very good concert, too. I didn't even know he was still kicking around.

23. why, because of my age?
I'm an old man.

I saw a lot of good concerts in the mid 80s, including Metallica twice at the old Agora Ballroom in West Hartford - once on the Ride the Lightning Tour and then after they finished their stint opening for Ozzy for Master of Puppets.

My first concert ever was Lita Ford opening for Ratt & Twisted Sister...also at the Agora.

40. yes, I saw Metallica with Cliff Burton
My biggest concert regrets have been not seeing Van Halen when they had David Lee Roth and passing up an opportunity to see Nirvana up in Springfield because I was a bit under the weather... a few months later, Kurt Cobain was dead.
