I have Great News!!!!!! Well, at least for me and my wife
Edited on Wed May-18-05 09:19 AM by bugslsu9
Well, as long as my wife can use vacation time, we are going on a week long Disney cruise. Not only that, but if she can, we are going to start trying to have a baby that week!!!!!! I cannot wait. We need a vacation, and I cannot wait to be a father and teach them to be good liberals!

1. Yeah!
Have fun with the tryin', that's the best part!

(Well, ok, the best part is seeing them after they're born, but the tryin' runs a close second!)

4. I dont think trying to have a baby
is a sex thread. It is a perfectly natural thing. Mods, FYI, I do not want this to turn into a sex thread, just want to share my happiness with my friends!!!

8. there's a commerical exactly about this
where the little girl is going on and on and on about the disney crusie they took last year. Then she refers to the new baby as a souviner from the cruise and mom looks all embarrassed.

10. I remember that one!
They don't have any older sibs to spill the beans, so they should be okay with this baby!

11. We will though
Every time we go back to Disney World, especially after they are old enough to know how babies are made, we will remind them that we started on the Disney Cruise!!! Aren't we mean?

15. I actually kind of hope it embarrasses our kids
if we tell them every time where they are conceived. But, hey, that's just me

16. And of course you have to hope you actually know
where.

These things can be freaky, eery. Sometimes I "knew" ( I had six) and other times, the little one was a complete surprise.

7. Disney is a corporation
Regardless of whether we like it or not, corporations are out to make money. They need to pay their shareholders, of which, I am one of Disney's. However, just because their goal is to make money, it does not mean that they are inherently evil. They became the first major entertainment company to actively recycle. In Epcot, they were developing new farming techniques to try and use land that was otherwise infertile.

Just because they have to watch out for the bottom line, does not mean they are evil. I'm just sayin'...

12. Not tryng to bring you down, or rile you up. But Disney was...
...instrumental in Jeb being gov. Bought Congressional GOP influence to get the Mickey Mouse copyright extended. Owns the Florida legislature. Even Walt's signed 1923 check to the Repugs is in my links. And they have a very uneven labor relations history with their workers. Kinda Wall-Martish on that front.

All that aside, have a great time and I hope your efforts at having a kid are successful. Enjoy La-La Land, just don't buy into it. I too support businesses that are Republican, and I have no problem with it. But I do like to know where they stand.

Like I said, I'm just sayin'...

14. No company is perfect
None, even the blue companies do things that we don't like. But, as a former cast member, I can tell you that the union is strong at Disney World. Very strong.

17. I agree, no company is perfect. But Disney is consistent.
Here's a 1959 check from Walt to the GOP.

I shop at Home Depot, they support Republicans. *shrug*

I just like to know that.

Disney is #25 on the Top 25 Republican global consumer brands donors list...

On the labor front...

Again, enjoy the cruise. Produce a new liberal. Just don't buy the facade. When I spend at HD, I know I am supporting a GOP power structure. It is good to be conscious of it, is all.

9. You're doing it wrong.
You need to start trying to have a baby a good nine months BEFORE you want the baby. ;)

18. If you havent been on a Disney cruise, you will LOVE it
even without kids, its a great time. They have separate areas of the boat (and island) for adults only, kids only, and families.

Try the Palo resteraunt (you will need reservations for it), and the couples cabana massage on the island is the best.

20. We have
And absolutely loved it. We got married last September, and went on a land-sea cruise. It was that that made us want to do the full week. Palo's was fantastic, well, all the food was fantastic. We unfortunately did not get to Castaway Cay because Hurricane Francis destroyed it, so we can't wait to see it!!

We are planning 2 massages, one on-board, and one on Castaway Cay

21. My wife and I did the same thing!
we got married at Disney during a land/sea package.

You will love Castaway Cay. I recommend booking your massage for early in the day. We went right after breakfast, then lounged on the 'adult' side of the island all morning. No noise, drink service, and only a short tram ride back to the boat.

22. That is what we were thinking
The 1st day at sea, we are going to get a massage in the morning, lounge in the afternoon, and Palo's for dinner. Then at Castaway Cay, we are going to get another massage.

We are talking about adding a couple of days at the parks before we get on the ship. I love Disney, and, damnit, I need some good memories now. My brother got married in Disney in January, but my Dad had a stroke while we were there. Needless to say, I remember more of that than my brother's wedding, which really sucks.
