George Galloway's Testimony Never Happened.
Forget never, "George Galloway's explosive testimony in front of US Congress did not happened." Bob Boudelang told me so. Who you gonna believe?

Prove it did. The Corporate Media does not have a headline above the fold about it.

1. Problem there is, the media likes a knock-down, drag-out asskicking
more than they fear their corporate masters...and the story, once Galloway started ripping them a new one, was just too damn good to ignore.

Senate testimony is usually boring. History is punctuated by the odd dramatic moments (Army-McCarthy, Watergate, and so on) but there are years and years of boring crap in between. Even the Steroid Hearings were a snoozer, with ***baseball stars*** in the room.

But this hearing, this was THEATER!!! With an accent, no less!! Even better, there was stunning, sarcastic, blunt use of the English language! Old GG used his tongue as a terrible swift sword, and there was no one on the committee left unscathed. The weaselly presser old Toothy "Free Cosmetic Dentistry" Norm held after the fact only heightened the contrast!

Ya wanna see Norm smile? Check this out: http://www.milnardds.com/flash/case_2.swf

2. We At DU May Be Pissing Ourseles On How Great It Was ...
but it did not happen because the corportae media are saying nothing. Wash Post, LAT and NYT have no headlines.

The lemmings in USA know nothing of the issues addressed.

4. Uh, what cave are you living in?
IMUS is LEADING with it, calling it a BITCH SLAP. He just called Coleman Senator Norm GUMP.

Judith (I love Novakula) Miller of the NYT, couldn't even cover it with a full coat of paint, calling Norm flummoxed. http://www.nytimes.com/2005/05/18/international/middleeast/18food.html
and NYT had it up yesterday as a news story as well: http://www.nytimes.com/2005/05/17/international/europe/17cnd-food.html
LA TIMES: http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/world/la-fg-oil18may18,1,3049451.story?coll=la-headlines-world
Others covering this include
CNN http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/05/18/oil.food/
and http://www.cnn.com/2005/POLITICS/05/17/cnna.galloway/
WAPO: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/05/17/AR2005051700673.html?sub=AR

New York Post--Brit Fries Senators in Oil: http://www.nypost.com/news/worldnews/46783.htm

According to Google, 685 news articles have appeared on this story IN THE US ALONE in the last 24 hours. I'd say that isn't too bad for coverage of a SUBcommittee meeting chaired by a FRESHMAN Senator. Usually, they don't get reported on AT ALL. http://news.google.com/news?svnum=10&as_scoring=r&hl=en&lr=&c2coff=1&tab=wn&ie=UTF-8&q=George+Galloway+location:usa&as_drrb=b&as_minm=5&as_mind=17&as_maxm=5&as_maxd=18&filter=0&sa=N&start=20

3. The NYT and the WP wouldn't touch the Blair memo story of last week

either......and many others before that. There is absolutely no question left about their allegiances. And any story they DO decide to headline should therefore be considered suspect for propaganda.

I think the Galloway speech will create such a buzz that it will make its way to the public regardless of the papers. Papers that are, btw, digging themselves an early grave.

6. It's another straw
on the camel's back (of course if it got decent coverage it could've been a bale of hay).

7. CNN Headline News has run clip of Galloway saying this...
at the top of their half-hour updates: "Senator, in everything I said about Iraq, I turned out to be right and you turned out to be wrong and 100,000 people paid with their lives; 1600 of them American soldiers sent to their deaths on a pack of lies; 15,000 of them wounded, many of them disabled forever on a pack of lies."

That's something, at least.

8. Sadly, I must agree.
It is yet another rose which will wilt beside the
road.

If they can write off all of the ill will held by
most of the Arab Street on one line from a magazine.
Totally ignoring the vast evidence of where those
feelings really come from.

This will end with a murmur.

BTW... The Newsweek story is the next "Iraq/911" bullcrap paring.
