Got a flat tire, found out I might be losing my job (or have diminished responsibilities--no fault of mine, restructuring...actually I might get promoted...confusion, is my point).... :nopity:

Like skygazer said, LOL, no applause, just throw money!

7. When I was a young, single mom many years ago I would often
get home from work and wonder where that $5 or $10 dollar bill came from...it took me a few months to figure out that the grandmotherly type woman I worked with was slipping me money from time to time. I never said anything because I think she wanted to be anonymous about it...but it was a kindness I have never forgotten.

5. Props to single moms!
As a non-single (plural? ;-) ) mom, my hat is off to each and every one of you. And single dads too, while we're at it.

15. I'm not single, nor a Mom, BUT I need to say:
My best friend was a single Mom for a while, (she's married now) and I was always amazed at the strength and ambition she had. Every morning, she got up for work, got her young daughter ready for school, worked hard all day, provided for her child, kept her head on straight, and never failed to put her daughter first, but still look out for herself enough to stay functional and productive at all times. She never complained, and never asked anyone for one red cent, or a handout of any kind. She accomplished more before 7AM than I did in a whole day. Though I didn't envy her hardship, I admired her perseverance, and wondered if I would have been able to do half as well in her situation. Parenting, single or not, but especially single, is probably the hardest, most challenging, yet single most important job in the world. I don't need to be a parent to see this. I know how hard my own parents worked, how hard my best friend worked, to provide for their kids.

I tip my hat to all the single moms out there (and all moms) for your efforts, sacrifice, and contributions. I have more admiration for you than I could possible articulate.

18. Single Moms Rock, Roll, and have my Respect
This single dad who has it rather easy with a great exwife and other family support, has been and is in awe of just about all of the single moms I've ever met, who have so little outside help.

I bow before you all.

19. Single moms are the best

The single mothers that have been in my life are the most wonderful, intelligent, passionate, warm, caring, loving and dedicated people I know. They do a wonderful job at raising their children –and the single mothers that I know do a much better job at raising their families than some of the two-parent families I know. The same applies to single fathers.

My profound admiration and respect for single parents could not be greater than it is at the present time. Too often they are unfairly stereotyped and demonized by people who lack either the knowledge or empathy to understand what a wonderful role they play in shaping their children’s lives and in maintaining a loving home. Single mothers (and single fathers) are one of the groups in society that I most admire

A :toast: :toast: :toast: :yourock: to single mothers out there
