Quick question:
Edited on Tue May-17-05 01:35 PM by chaska
I named my new audiophile and musical instrument cable company 'Hyperion'. I have my idea of what the name means but lately I've heard it used in another context. I'm not sure now if I should keep the name.

Tell me what your first thought is you have when you hear 'Hyperion' - assuming that you have a notion of what it means. Please don't look it up. And please don't let the opinion of others influence what you say. I'm trying to get an honest (wo)man on the street opinion.

Thanks, ya'll.

2. It is also a record label.
You may have some copyright problems with that one.

4. Two things: Greek mythology and a moon of Saturn
Edited on Tue May-17-05 01:46 PM by mcscajun
Hyperion in Greek mythology (something I devoured as a child and never lost my interest in) was the father of Helios (the Sun), Eos (Goddess of the Dawn), and Selene (the Moon).

How Hyperion got to be a moon of Saturn, I don't know.

5. Well, so far, so good. This atomization of opinion...
would seem to indicate no hard and fast meaning. And there are lots of companies call Hyperion - maybe that's not such a problem, as long as there's no cable company called that.

Keep 'em comin'.
