1. ROFL

My response to people like that:

"You know, I have an answering machine for a REASON!"

3. You've been talking to my mom?
I swear I have that conversation at least once a week with her.

LEAVE A MESSAGE! That's what voice mail is for!

5. I get that all the time too
I'm so bad. I NEVER answer the house phone - I just use the ringing sound as a reminder to check messages later. Everyone who needs to can reach me by cell, and that's only a very select few, so that's all I ever answer.

Still there are those folks who never leave a message. . .

6. I usually tell people not to leave a message unless it's something
specific. Otherwise, caller ID lets me know they are trying to reach me and I call them back. That way I don't have to listen to a hundred "hi, it's me, call me" voicemails.

Then again, I live via cell phone only these days.

7. That is a good one! I Like it too when...
...I pick up the phone and the person on the other end says: "Who's this?"

I invariably reply: "Who's this? YOU called ME."

LOL. It's always a wrong number and they hang up.

At least "Who's this?" is better than to just slam the phone down with nothing said. Barely. I guess. LOL.

8. LOL! It used to be "I hate those things" when you asked if they left a
message on your machine. But even my doddering old relatives finally got over that. I think this excuse is just to claim credit for having called. Pretty lame. But thanks for the laugh!
