Any Brits out there in DU land?
Can we keep George Galloway and make him one of ours?

I dub thee "The British Harry Truman, tellin' it like it T-I-is!"

1. I'm a Brit.
Galloway's a very controversial figure over here. I think a lot of people would say "you're welcome to him".

But boy is he eloquent, charismatic, and unafraid of saying what he thinks.

2. We certainly could use some of that "saying what he thinks" stuff.
It's hard not to smother with kisses anyone who slams Norm Coleman like that.

But I understand we're only seeing one side of Galloway...

4. true, anyone who slams coleman has that going for him

8. Quite. And he's a rampant grandstander and egoist.
I personally don't like him, BUT I think we'd be a lot worse off if he wasn't around. And he has been the victim of the most extraordinary smear campaign, so he's rattled a lot of highly placed cages that needed rattling.

And Respect won a seat, which is remarkable for a British "fourth party"; UKIP, the Greens, Veritas, CPA, Peace & Prgoress, SWP, BNP, none of them have even come close to that.

10. I definetly like rabble rousers
and they do make politics more interesting. Still, Galloway is a pretty shady character
I definetly agree with you on this one

11. In what way
In what way is Galloway "loopy"? I'm prepared to accept that you don't like him but describing him as "loopy" is uncalled for.

5. After his diatribe this a.m., do you even think he'd
WANT to live here? I'm thinking he wouldn't, and I can't blame him.

9. I'm a British ex-pat, and I think we should declare him U.S.
property, and a mandatory figure in all Senate hearings.
