What's everyone doing for summer?
I know some of you are all grown up and do the same things during summer, but those of us with special stuff, what's on the agenda?

I'm working at a summer camp in my home town, YMCA style. It's a lot of fun. I'll be the CIT director.

Also hope to make a DU fest or two.

How abotu youall?

1. The only thing I will do that's different
from any other time of the year is mow the lawn. I would like to get out more and be more social, but my work schedule does not permit me to do that during normal hours when everybody else is doing those things.

3. Camping and road trips...
I'm literally frothing at the mouth to do both right now; we're thinking of taking a road/camping trip up to Yellowkinife, NWT and get out in the bush and camp; I can't wait..

4. Yellowknife.
My dad just took my mom to Yellowknife as an anniversary gift. They love Canada. I think they're secretly Canadian or something. (Until Gordon Lightfoot got sick a couple of years ago, they used to fly to Canada at least once a year for a GL concert.)

5. I love it up here..
Since coming up here from the US I've pretty much become an Canadian, at least in spirit.

It doesn't have the multitude of so many different kinds of climates and scenery as the US, but it's almost varied. And the Canadian Rockies and Badlands here in Alberta are the most beautiful places I've ever been in my life.

I don't know how to articulate it well enough, but there's an almost Zen quality to the land itself, and for the most part the people, too. I've only been here going on 4 years, so I'm going to have a blast exploring every last nook and cranny to the country. I've even falling in love w/ Curling and haven taken it up; my wife can't believe this is the same guy who used to rant in punk rock bands...

7. The Uffizi Gallery, baby!
It might sound like a boring time to a lot of folks, but we live driving distance from Florence and I haven't been there yet. Dying to go!
