It is so depressing to come back to my little Republicon corner of the world after spending a week in Phoenix chatting up Nobel Laureates in my free time. Does anyone else find "the real world" mind-numbingly mundane? It seems that its "normal" to not care about anything beyond the walls of your own little world. You know how it works, the smart ones in school are "nerds" and "uncool" and if you want to fit in, you'd better sit down and shut up. After all, it's only twelve years of your life you'll never get back. Who need a childhood?
No one cares for science and progress anymore, only preserving the status quo. Hey, change is "scary." Why else do people keep voting Republican? Am I wrong to connect the increasing conservatism in our nation to the increasing apathy of our nation's youth?
Only two more days of school and then I'm done. I can't wait to get the hell out of Dodge.
