KGs computer question of the week.
ok, i was informed last week that i could reformat/reinstall XP using the recovery disk, but i haven't figured out how to this. thanks in advance for any help. :)

1. I think you just boot up the XP disk
There should be an option to reinstall Windows.

2. there are 7 disks, i put the first one in but it just kinda sat there and
spun. couldnt determine with .exe file would start the process.

4. Are these disk floppy?
I thought XP would fit on one CD.

5. 7 CDs. XP itself might fit on 1 CD, but these are the HP recovery disks
i imagine they have everything that comes preloaded on the PC

6. OK.. Gotcha..

They do install a bunch of things. Can you get into BIOS. From there you can tell it to boot from the D/ (CD) drive instead of the hard drive. Every box is a bit different. Restart and look for any button you need to press for the BIOS. The proper button should be displayed.

Just for the record: Macintosh user offering *86 help.

On edit: it looks like you need to press F1 while you restart to get to the BIOS on a HP machine.
