Does anyone else get depressed when....
they see someone on the side of the road that's broke and holding a sign asking for money and you don't even have change to give them?

Just happened to me when I went to the store. Now I'm depressed...

1. This might help you
A few years ago a news station did a story regarding the people who stands on the corner asking for money. The news folllowed one of the persons standing on the corner (undercover). Well, he got into his car at a Circle K and went home into a very expensive house. As much as I want to help these people not sure about them. I'm not sure where to give anymore.

5. I may not be their judge
but it is my money (I don't have a hell of a lot). It is not just my few dollars, it comes down to being screwed and being trusted

I am a very giving person or I was at one time, now I am being very careful

So, if I'm went on your street corner begging for money (don't forget I may have assests). you would contribute with no questions asked? No questions asked. The person begging would not have any poblems begging from your community?

6. i'm just saying
people are so paranoid about everything these days. what are the odds the person asking doesn't need the money? slim.

and yeah, as long as i have some i'll always give at least a little out, and i don't have much either, i'm a college student.

4. sure, just last night...
we were walking down the alley on our way to a dinner date when this homeless dude said, "mr. & mrs. america! how we doing tonight?"

he had the ring of authenticity & a story about having been robbed but then don't we all. hubby goes for the authenticity, and so, reached in his pocket & laid a handful of change in his palm. walking away i told him he better not have just given away my laundry money

8. At the DU meetup in Cambridge in March
as soon as I arrived after a drive that took well over an hour, a lady and her kids approached me while I was feeding the meter.

They said they needed bus fare. I may be gullible but I believed them and gave them the full fare ($ 6.00).

I may be a sucker but I sleep really well at night. I figure if they were suckering me, it's their karma. I will believe till my dieing day that I helped them in some way.

Yes, I am often guilty of ruinous generosity. But 6 bucks didn't break me either.
