1. I work for a great boss

who really appreciates me, hates Bush, and lets me alone to do my thing most of the day. I'd say that's pretty good.

2. Love it, Love it

I watch my grandchildren part-time and have a little side thing going making "video scrapbooks" within my husband's piano-teaching business.

Downside........no money in it!!!

3. I like my job, boss is not too great

I have a tremendous amount of freedom in my job. I do a number of non-classroom related things at a small public school district in upstate NY...public relations, adult education, services for gifted and talented students. I have some student contact as advisor to drama club and Odyssey of the Mind, which I love.

I have my own office and freedom to do what I need to do, how I want to do it, as long as it gets done on time.

The downside: the superintendent is kind of hard to work for...can be tempermental and moody as well as a "king of the world" kind of guy.
There is always more work than I have time to do it in, that is why I am here on Saturday...(taking a mental health break right now) and because we are a public school my job is always on the chopping block as we lose state aid and don't want to raise taxes.

Is that SO MUCH more than you wanted to know??? :boring:

'nuff said. 8:00-5:00 sux. Banks suck. Never work at one unless you're desperate like I am!

6. I really need a different job

I suppose that it wouldn't be that bad if I knew that I'd be escpaing from it soon. As it stands now, I've developed an unhealthy attitude about it that I don't think is salvagable. First, there are the more general things: no paid sick days, little vacation (including less than promised after the first year), and not enough time to eat at break (3 15 minute breaks). Then there is the fact that sometimes I am have a hard time being motivated. I am the only one that does my job and it doesn't seem like it matters whether I do well or not. I am in charge of quality, but my business doesn't value quality. Upper management treats me like a slave and the production workers are mostly jealous of me. My actual duties are not all that horrible, but these things have caused me anxiety and sadness over this job. My hours have also been cut and my best friend is leaving. The bad thing is that this job pays enough that I have a difficult time finding something that pays better. My self esteem regarding work has been zapped so much by this job that I have a difficult time selling my self to potention employers. I have worked there for two and a half years.

10. I love my job so much, I don't realize that I have a job a lot of times.

Being a college football team student equipment manager is the best job I could think of doing right now. And I get paid pretty well, too.

In my 45th year with same company. Privately owned, great benifits. Plan to retire in one more year.
