All Things Considered, May 12, 2005 · Dave Chappelle is missing. Comedy Central's hit "Chappelle's Show" was supposed to start its third season later this month. But the provocative comedian at the show's helm has disappeared. Michele Norris talks with Newsweek's Devin Gordon.

5. Did Comedy Central put Chappelle's 3rd season on hold before or after his

check-in?

I've heard both. :-(

I also noticed his 2nd season DVD had been postponed THREE times. First February, then May 17, now May 24. :wtf:

That story about him going to South Africa to be voluntarily admitted has been out and about since this morning. And they are acting like it is latest breaking news!

I read earlier that he had a bunch of sketches in the can already, but there is no one to do the audience interaction. I think he should let Charlie Murphy do it, and let the show go on. Alternatively, have a different guest host every week, like Wanda Sikes and David Allen Greer.

Those sketches alone would carry the season, he is just too damn funny.

12. Okay, here's what the comics that know him say he is going through

He is now a muslim and he is having conflicts with some of his sketches being too racy for his religion. He has very high standards so he doesn't want to compromise his comedy and water it down, but he also doesn't want to offend his religion. This is what I heard on the radio about a week ago

drugs, tells them what he had to do to score some crack.
