1. not always so!
Depends on the speed at which the rain is falling!

4. hmmm, shouldn't there be a velocity that minimizes...
...the intersection of particles, assuming that all velocities are constant?

10. That's right and, I haven't worked it out yet but I think it's equal to
the amount of rainfall per unit time.

6. i saw this experiment on (discovery channeL?)
and it true - you stay drier waLking, rather than running through the rain (based on weight of water). they may have expLained why, but i was Long asLeep by then.

9. Look at it this way. If it rains x amount in an hour. Let's say you
walk ten feet at a regular pace, then you gone through a column of water 10 by x inches an hour.

11. Surface area exposed to water.
When you run, you are running into more raindrops as opposed to them mostly just landing on your head and shoulders.

12. Nay comrad. Say there was a spheroid shape to make the
surface area the same in all directions. Why would the surface come in contact with more water if it were traveling at a faster rate? You see comrad, the people revolutionary caucas is attempting to protect the masses from the oppressors who seek to dupe them from the petty bourgeous notion of exploitive profits.

23. True, a sphere would get less wet going faster.
But people are not shaped like spheres, now are they?

because you get to your destination sooner.

18. I love to walk in the rain
It's about will power. The moment you start to accept the rain is when you become happy, because you'll notice everybody desperately trying to find cover like it's a big deal. Mind over matter...

19. If you can walk quickly enough to cause the air molecules to ....
...hit your skin at a very fast rate ..oh..say 1700 MPH..the rain will
vaporize but then you have to deal with the burnt skin and all so it's
probably not worth it.

Glad to be of help. :)
