1. I live in Florida...................
and Spring means that all of the Snowbirds go home and leave us in peace. Summer in Florida is like living in hell, but there's a lot fewer assholes to put up with. Fall and winter aren't bad weather wise, but but the number of migratory nincompoops puts a whammy on the enjoyment.

2. P.S.
Love your picture of Hyacinth, I have a neighbor (again, during winter) that acts exactly like her. Her husband soooooo reminds me of Richard. I feel like Emmett.

5. Poor Emmet... Poor YOU! --- Run and HIDE!
No... POOR Richard. He's got to be the one character on television that I have the most sympathy for.

22. Exactly
It affects all aspects of life here. I work at a library, and my mom at a hospital, so we see a big increase in work when people migrate from the North.

4. Spring In Maryland Is Beautiful
Edited on Sat Oct-25-03 12:14 AM by arwalden
Solstice holidays help to make the winter tolerable... but the cold weather and shoveling snow really sucks. Summers are okay. I love the smell leaves in the fall... but springtime is the most beautiful when everything is that "bright" new shade of green. Pre-mosquitos, pre-heat.

6. I just LOVE the Fall...
I live in Los Angeles and there isn't much here but still you can feel a little difference in the air and the sunlight has a filtered look to it. I can drive a couple of hours away into another county and find a place where the leaves turn, beautiful. :-)

7. It's gotta be Fall
I live in Georgia where the Summers can be quite uncomfortable. Fall is always a very welcome change.

I'm originally from New England where the Falls are beautiful: crisp, clean(er) air, foliage, etc. I do miss New England Falls. :-)

cold and nasty and long as possible, thank you! Maybe it's because I'm the daughter of a meteorologist, but I just LOVE inclement weather. Bring it on!!!

12. Because you like the cold itself? Or because you like to be snug & warm...
... INSIDE with a big fire in the fireplace and a cup of hot chocolate---a nice warm cuddly blanket---slippers---a warm terry-cloth robe---and a good book?

the feel of it on my face; not having to sweat, no humidity. I don't care for fires at all.

14. I'd Like The Fall MORE... If Only... If ONLY...
... Winter weren't right behind it.

Fall itself is gorgeous. I think I dislike it because of what it represents... what it foretells... the precursor to SNOW and ICE and bitterly cold winds. Ugh.

Let's just skip winter and go directly to early spring.

18. I really dislike the short, short days we have in in winter.....
but the shedding of the old to make way for pristine new is lovely and vital to my way of seeing it!

But the incubation of winter could be quite a bit shorter for my liking.

Daylight Savings Time and Standard Time. DST is, by far, my favorite. During Standard Time, I'd rather hibernate. :boring:ZZzzzzzzz

HATE HATE HATE winter, never have so many suffered so just a few can ski. Fall is just a reminder of the coming dark cold miserable weather. I tolerate summer but I save my scorn for winter. Maybe it's because after 42 years of shoveling or plowing the shit, I'm just plain fed up with it. The shorter daylight hours don't help.

On edit. fighting fires in the winter is the worse.

Actually, it's summer but when summer's going on I fear for the first day of cool weather that tells me fall and :shiver: winter is coming, but spring is the leadup to summer.
